Read ArticleStartups have enough to worry about. Funding, hiring, pr, funding again and the usual herding of cats all hours of the night.
Lochness helps startups (and startups at heart) with copywriting, content and ideas they can trust to get noticed without having to worry. You need your sleep. (All two hours of it.)
I've worked in advertising for 16 years creating ideas for brands you know (Dunkin Donuts, Verizon Wireless and Michelin), along with brands you might not (but will soon) (Bounce Exchange, Dark Corner Distillery and Rugged Design). I know what works and what doesn't. And startups can't waste money on stuff that doesn't work.
George LoisAdvertising is poison gas. It should bring tears to your eyes, unhinge your nervous system and knock you out.
The secret to getting your brand noticed without a $400,000 advertising campaign is not really a secret. It's smart, engaging copywriting, content and ideas. Here's a few that worked.
Pardon the French, but it's easy to find someone in marketing. Throw a rock. Right now. There. Ouch. You just hit four of them. And two of them are finance majors. You know what's hard to find? Copywriters that get it. Content that startles people. Ideas that cause ripples.
I’ve won two Obies (1 silver, 1 gold) so my Mom’s really proud. I believe in smart, strategic headlines, scripts and content that stand out. My fingers literally can’t type “game changer” and other clichés. Not only can Lochness write and hand the content over, I got a guy who can design like nobody’s business.

I don’t care if you need a 100+ page website or a great landing page or a killer digital ad, for commercial truck tires or a bank or highly classified personnel armor…I believe in engaging, user-friendly content. There’ll be no cutting-and-pasting your corporate brochure at Lochness. Boring is boring. And a waste of your money.
Lochness can write, research, interview, brainstorm, post and create whatever Content Marketing needs you may have. We won’t force your message down your target audience’s throat. Let’s give them what they want, so they’ll come back again and again. Lochness has experience as a social media director for a $1.5 million client.
The best ideas come from thinking until it hurts. This is a fact. So call Lochness, invite Lochness over to your workplace or Skype like crazy, or give Lochness 24 hours to show you what we’ve got. Let’s throw as many marketing ideas onto a wall as we can and see what sticks.
You can’t fake writing apps. I’ll dig into your app to learn it front to back, and make your content as user-friendly and pithy as possible, while making sure your brand shines through. That’s how app writing should be done. (But usually isn’t.)
SEO copywriting isn’t dead. Yes, the OLD SEO is dead (link buying, keyword stuffing, gaming the system), and organic search is king, but more than ever your website needs to answer a need from your prospects. Namely legitimate keywords and content. I’ll strategically (and lovingly) work in your keywords and brand story in your Meta and website content, so everything works harmoniously. And I can write PPC advertising and Google Remarketing ads so everything works together. Google is happy. Your visitors are happy. Your CFO is happy.
Why does every sales video sound the same? Because no one puts in the extra effort it takes to find that nugget to make your brand stand out. If you want a boring video, Google “video writer with a bad mustache.” But if you want a video that actually has life, Lochness is ready to work.

Maybe your budget is tight, but your brand needs to get the word out. Well, how about chalk art? Or hiring actors to scale a wall? Or throwing an impromptu hot dog eating contest? Lochness can give you more guerilla marketing ideas in an hour that you’ve seen in a year.
Sales guys are cool, but they often get drowned in the rational. Lochness can add the emotional sell and actually make someone want to read/listen/watch your sales pitch.

I'm a sucker for a great story. If a consultant held me by the neck and forced me to utter a "brand mantra," this would be it: To create and share brand stories that light the world on fire. Like "Nessie." And Loch Ness.
I believe in the power of stories. And I've written for enough brands in enough industries in enough mediums to know what gets noticed, what stinks and what causes ripples. And because I'm in South Carolina, USA, well, we've combined "you all" to "y'all" so let's drop the extra space and make it "Lochness" for goodness sake.
Don't worry. You'll find no phrases like "thought leadership" or "uptime" or "content marketing that's a game changer" here. But, to be honest, I just snuck all those keywords into On-Page SEO. Gotcha, Google!
